Developers And Users, Copyrightable Code, Mobile Apps Gone Bad and HTML5 Tools
Put the developers in some contact with the users. Good idea.......normally ;-).
http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-11-2011/111129-how-devops-can-speed-app-dev.html
Interesting. The code to do something is copyrightable but not the something. Hmmmmm.......

Microsoft And Android Malware, Bad Work Gifts, Facebook And Privacy, Kindle Privacy
"I love you Microsoft, but the #droidrage thing seems a little below the belt," chimed in Lucius Stone. "I would have expected this of Apple, not you."

What's In A Name, Intel Smartphones, Connected Devices and Ultrabooks
How did the internet browsers get their names?
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/thebeebs/archive/2012/01/09/how-to-name-a-web-browser-by-those-who-have.aspx
Interesting. Intel entering the smartphone market.
http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9223336/Intel_enters_smartphone_market_after_uphill_battle
Hmmmm......not sure if I agree with this:
The TV should know that you've come in and turn on to your favorite show.
But I do like the idea of better inter-connected devices.
http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9223334/Google_s_Schmidt_says_devices_apps_need_to_be_friends
Here is an example of why I think tablets are going to fade quite a bit. Taking a look at the specs on this, I have to ask why, exactly, a tablet would be a solid option. Eventually, these will have touch screens, too. So priced about the same you will have a comfort of keyboard and stand-alone ability with about the same size as a pad. The other 1/2 of the equation is an app-store solution for desktops. It'll come.

Worst CEO, SOPA, Raises and IT Trends
IT outlook for 2012 looks promising. Maybe it's time for a change ;-).

Steve Ballmer was the third-worst CEO (by votes) in IT. It also shows the
Xeorx chief as #1. Wasn't she just promoted to such a couple of months
ago?

What I have asked in response to those lambasting anything SOPA-like. If
the greed and everything else upsets you, go do it all yourself.

Really cool note on asking for a raise.

Texting, Higgs-Boson, IT Rules and Browser Security
I agree with the last of the blog watch list on the NTSB call for banning
texting.
Unenforceable, arbitrary, over-reaching...regulations like this...will make
some people feel good. ... But that’s all they will accomplish.
http://blogs.computerworld.com/19419/dont_phone_and_drive_says_obamas_ntsb
What is Higgs-Boson and why does it matter?
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn21277-what-is-the-higgs-boson-and-why-does-it-matter.html
Mostly, this makes me roll my eyes.......and kinda feel old.
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/btl/young-professionals-more-willing-to-break-it-rules-cisco/65263
Interesting point about browser security and vendor-sponsored results.

Facebook Timeline, CarrierIQ Again, Cross Platform and HTML5 Sites
Quote from the article:
If you have yet to switch to the new timeline, then don’t.
Trust me, it will make your life far easier.
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/london/how-to-delete-every-facebook-wall-post-wipe-your-timeline/1999
I still don't think Carrier IQ is much ado about nothing. I do think
something is there. If not overtly nefarious.
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/btl/federal-authorities-open-carrier-iq-investigation-into-phone-tracking/65381
Pretty cool note on the commingling of technologies (MS to iPad).

Kinda neat listing of cool HTML5 sites:

DDOS, WP7, Apple and Programming Speed
Interesting word on DDOS.
http://www.infoworld.com/d/security/how-deny-ddos-attacks-181523
Will WP7 make a move in 2012? As much as it pains me to say it, I hope so.
http://www.zdnet.com/debate/great-debate-can-windows-phone-7-and-nokia-become-players-in-the-us/6332750
Hmmmm.....a minor point. I disagree with the feller's take on pressuring
apple to remove an app.
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/government/with-no-apparent-legal-leg-to-stand-on-senator-bob-casey-pressures-apple-to-remove-app/11045
Cool. Thoughts on app health and development speed:
